Alyd Air Air Charter Services was founded in 1993 when the founding member, Dr. James Dawson, a medical doctor and commercial pilot, flew a Piper Aztec F model out across the Atlantic and down through Africa to South Africa.

He partnered with Vincent Stanford, an aeronautical engineer in 1995 and an application was made and approved for a Domestic Air Service License in that year.

Other members have joined our aircraft charter company in the intervening years, with many years of flying experience and chartering.  Some members also instruct at various Flying Clubs.

Hans Battenfeld, from Germany joined the company in 2004.
